President, Kary Huffman, Beta Psi, San Jose State University, ‘03
Kary joined the HCB as President in October 2010. Previously, Kary was on the Pacific Northwest Regional team as the Regional Housing Coordinator and that is where she originally started working to help rebuild Chi chapter. She currently lives in Las Vegas with her husband Kris, who is a Beta Theta Pi, and her two young sons Kai (2) and Kole (3 months). Kary works part-time as a bookkeeper at Sorority Solutions, Inc. as well as part-time for Alpha Phi International as the Program Coordinator, Finance. Kary’s hobbies include volunteering for Alpha Phi, reading, and keeping up with her two young boys!
Vice President, Shana Goss Smith, Chi, University of Montana, ‘81
Shana joined the HCB as Vice President in May 2011. She currently helps to oversee the maintenance of the facility and works with vendors on remodeling projects. Shana currently lives in Port Gamble, WA with her husband Greg, and works for Pope Resources, serving as the Port Gamble Town Manager. They also have 3 children and 3 granddaughters. Over the years, Shana has volunteered for Alpha Phi in many capacities including: HCB President at Alabama, serving on the Fraternity’s COL, which elects the next International Executive Board, serving two terms on the International Executive Board, and serving as Regional Manager in the Pacific Northwest. Shana says this about volunteering: “It is a connection to amazing friends and to an organization that was there during my collegiate years and after. I have met some amazing women in my post collegiate years in Alpha Phi that have become true friends. I also remember the women that were my advisors in college who gave their time and I truly feel the need to give back. Also, working with collegiate women keeps you up-to-date on what is happening on campuses today. Volunteering with Alpha Phi is fun and rewarding and that is why I continue to do it.
Secretary, Susan English, Chi, University of Montana,
Susan joined the HCB as Secretary in May 2011 after recently moving back to Missoula. Susan is married to Scott Dahmer (Sigma Phi Epsilon, ’72) and has three grown children: Erik (27, UM Grad), Lauren (23, UM Grad and Chi Chapter member), and Ross (current student at WSU and Sigma Phi Epsilon member). She is a rheumatologist professionally and she loves both volunteering for the University of Montana and at Chi chapter.
Director, Leigh Lammert Parker, Epsilon Xi, Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, ’84 & ‘86
Leigh joined the HCB as a Director in May 2011. Her past volunteer roles include being the secretary of the Greater Phoenix Alumnae Chapter and the Standards and Scholarship advisor at Epsilon Xi. Leigh currently lives in Victor, MT with her husband and dog and she serves as an Information Services Contractor in her professional life. Leigh wanted to volunteer with Chi chapter to give back to Alpha Phi and be helpful in her community. Her hobbies include hiking, walking her dog, reading, and watching/photographing wildlife.
Director, Dee Dahmer Butorac, Chi, University of Montana, ‘73
Dee joined the HCB as a Director in May 2011. Previously, she has volunteered in the roles of Alumnae President, Panhellenic Adviser, and New Member Adviser. She currently lives locally in Missoula with Tom, her husband of 38 years. After 25 years in the fitness industry, she is now working at Chico’s clothing store. Dee has two children and one grandchild and loves gardening, horses, photography, beading, and fitness. She has decided to volunteer with the chapter again because she loves being around college-age young people and she wants to help the Greek system at UM grow and improve.
Fundraising Chair, Dawn Craven Lochridge, Chi, University of Montana, ‘82
Dawn joined the HCB as Fundraising Chair in fall 2010 after serving Chi as the Chapter Adviser for many years. Dawn lives locally in Missoula with her husband Jim Lochridge (Sigma Nu, ’85) and two sons Danny (14) and Eddy (9). Professionally, Dawn has been an attorney, the owner of title insurance company, and most recently she has started her own business called Recognize Your Possibilities, LLC, which provides coaching and consulting for the business professional.
