Building Our Future at 1107: Chi Chapter Renovation Project

The House Corporation Board is asking for your financial support for the “Building Our Future at 1107: Chi Chapter Renovation Project” Fundraiser. This fundraiser is to help defray the cost of major remodeling projects and purchases that we hope to make and complete in the summers leading up to our centennial celebration in 2018. Our goal of this fundraising campaign is to raise $100,000 for improvements to our facility. It is also important to note that 100% of funds donated to will go to facility improvements and will not be used for operating expenses.

We hope that you will decide to support and give to this important project at a level that is comfortable for you. We will acknowledge all of the alumnae that are able to make a donation to the “Building Our Future at 1107: Chi Chapter Renovation Project” fundraiser in a follow up newsletter, on our website, and by hanging a plaque of donor names and giving levels in a prominent location in the chapter house. We also hope to have a huge centennial celebration in 2018 in which we hope to show off all of our remodeling!

Here is a wish list of projects we could possibly complete with the help of alumnae donations:

• Completely gut and re-model the bathrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors
• Re-carpet all floors of the facility in the same carpet (it is currently different colors)
• Replace the boiler, which is on its last leg
• Purchase all new bunk beds and bedroom furniture
• Remove the glass block half wall from the entry - DONE
• Re-do the flooring in the entryway
• Purchase patio furniture for the back patio - DONE
• Paint all bedrooms and hallways and remove wall paper
• Remodel the basement so it is an inviting space
• Replace washers, dryers, and refrigerators
• Remove some walls and re-purpose some rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor
• Remodel our cook’s kitchen including replacing the dishwasher, cabinetry, flooring
• Upgrade the study lounge so that it coordinates and is a comfortable place to study - DONE
• Update the “exec” room so that it is a designated space to display our historical memorabilia
• Re-frame some composites that are broken or falling apart
• Re-model the guest bedroom - DONE
• Completely gut and re-landscape the front yard
• Replace the back patio fence which is falling down
