Philanthropy

Service and philanthropy are cornerstones of our organization and are truly close to our heart. Alpha Phis at Montana hold service activities to give back to the Missoula community, bettering ourselves and the place we call home.
Our philanthropic efforts focus on our fraternity’s international cause, The Alpha Phi Foundation, which raises awareness and funds research for the No. 1 killer of women in North America – heart disease. The Alpha Phi Foundation empowers women to be generous givers. It raises and awards funds for programs that improve women’s heart health, advance leadership development, encourage academic excellence, support sisters in need and educate about the value of philanthropy.Chi chapter hosts a Red Dress Gala event every year to raise money for the Alpha Phi Foundation. The 2011 Red Dress Gala and Casino Night featured casino games and prizes, a silent auction, drinks and appetizers. Thanks to generous donations from alumnae, family, friends and the Missoula community, we raised $5,000 to donate to the Alpha Phi Foundation!

Alpha Phis at UM are also involved in the campus and Missoula communities and are always looking for ways to help out! Whether we’re volunteering for the Flagship Program or working with the University to help beautify campus, the sisters of the Chi chapter are ready and willing to help out in the community. From collecting donations for the "Can the Cats" food drive to the participating in the Adopt-a-Family program, there is always an Alpha Phi present to lend a hand.
